The Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia program is for qualified Registered Nurses who wish to earn a Master of Science degree while pursuing education as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. The Master of Science program in Nurse Anesthesia originated in response to the request of leaders in the health care field for graduate level education in the field of Nurse Anesthesia. CRNA Program Requirements:
  • License: Baccalaureate Degree required but does not have to be in nursing. You may have an associate’s degree in nursing. Current licensure as a RN in Minnesota must be un-encumbered, no restrictions or suspensions.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a critical care setting. Critical care means adult, pediatric or neonatal intensive care or emergency department in a level one trauma center. Not accepted: Recovery room, PACU, non-trauma ER, telemetry, dialysis, surgery, CV lab or step-down units
  • GPA: Overall GPA of 2.75 or higher. A GPA of 3.0-3.2 or higher in science and/or math courses is needed to be competitive.
  • GRE: Not required.
  • Certifications: Recommend: CCRN, TNCC, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, NALS, NRP

Interview:

They do not interview candidates for the program. Admission is solely based on the contents of the application and the ability to present a professional set of documents.
