Program Summary:

The 27-month Masters of Nurse Anesthesia program comprises didactic courses and clinical experience-integration of clinical training with coursework is a key feature of the program. Students begin a supervised clinical experience in the first semester. CRNA Program Requirements:
  • License: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
    Current licensure as a registered nurse in one of the 50 states; South Carolina licensure is not required at application but must be obtained prior to enrollment/ matriculation
  • Work Experience: A minimum of one year full-time critical care nursing experience prior to the acceptance deadline of July 1; clinical experience within the past three years is preferred and must be direct hands-on patient care.

  • GPA: a GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale is preferred; the average GPA for students admitted for the Class of 2013 was 3.56 with a range 0f 2.8 to 4.0

Interview:

They review applications and determine who is interviewed using a process that takes into consideration Grade Point Average (GPA), Basic Science GPA, Graduate Record Exam (GRE) score and quantity/quality of work experience.  For those who agree to interview, they provide two 25 minute interviews with Program and University Faculty.  They solicit current student participation in all phases of the activities. Those selected are notified shortly thereafter.
